Various product licences on offer in latest Uefa tender
Uefa has today invited suppliers to submit bids to acquire licensing rights in various categories for its club competitions from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
Soccer’s European governing body has asked “suitably qualified suppliers, ideally with experience working with sports organisations” to submit proposals in the categories of: white label watch (no manufacturer branding on product); sunglasses; confectionery; 3D printed figurines of soccer players who have won a Uefa competition; luggage and leather goods; and headphones.
The procedure, which covers the Uefa Champions League and Europa League for three years until the end of the 2020-21 season, is being overseen by Team Marketing, Uefa’s exclusive marketing agency for media and commercial rights to European club competitions.
Licensing rights (in the relevant categories) to the Uefa Super Cup, Uefa Youth League and Uefa Futsal Cup are also included in the rights packages.
Interested parties have been requested to contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Daniel Hammond, senior licensing and promotions manager at Team, no later than 2 March.
Last year, Team started the sales process for licensing rights in the watch category, along with stickers and trading cards, flip flops publications, back to school products, football tables and children’s football training accessories.
