Joma to kit out staff at Buenos Aires Youth Olympics
Joma, the Spanish sportswear brand, is to provide kit to staff working at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
The company will produce around 15,000 uniforms for personnel, volunteers and technical officials working at the games in the Argentinian capital, the organisers have said.
Joma, which becomes a bronze category sponsor of Buenos Aires 2018, will also make special uniforms for torchbearers taking part in the Youth Olympic flame relay.
Leandro Larrosa, general director of the Buenos Aires 2018 organising committee, said: “Our uniforms will be inspired from the colours of our visual identity and will demonstrate the energy of the Buenos Aires 2018 team.”
Joma already has apparel deals in place with the national Olympic committees of Spain, Portugal and Mexico.
Meanwhile, Indian athletes at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympics will be wearing Li Ning kit, after the Chinese sportswear firm signed a new three-year deal with the Indian Olympic Association.
Indian athletes and officials will be provided with Li Ning competition and training kit, leisure wear and footwear for major events up to and including the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The company partnered with the IOA ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics.
