ESL extends partnership with Betway for another year
ESL, the eSports promoter owned by Sweden’s Modern Times Group, will continue its partnership with Betway, the online betting company, for 2019.
The extended agreement also includes the option to renew for a further year.
Under the terms of the deal, Betway will continue in its role as the exclusive betting sponsor of ESL’s top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitions.
The bookmaker will also benefit from VIP hospitality, 'behind the scenes' content and branding in stadia and across the competition’s broadcasts.
This is Betway’s latest foray into eSports after sponsoring last year’s CS:GO FACEIT Major London event as well as agreeing deals with several eSports teams such as Ninjas in Pyjamas, Made in Brazil and BIG Clan.
Adam Savinson, head of esports at Betway, said: “ESL are among the elite event organisers across the global esports landscape, so we’re delighted to extend this relationship following another successful year for all involved.”
Bernhard Mogk, senior vice-president global sales and business development at ESL, said: “Having Betway as a truly global partner, across various CS:GO tournaments and leagues, creates benefits for fans all over the world.”
ESL yesterday announced a new, non-exclusive streaming rights deal with Facebook.
