West Ham and Betway agree 'record-breaking' six-year shirt deal
West Ham United, of English soccer’s Premier League, today announced a new six-year shirt sponsorship deal with Betway, the international online betting company, in what the club described as the “largest partnership deal in their history.”
Under the extended agreement, Betway will continue in its role as the club’s principal partner and have its branding feature on the front of all West Ham’s kits.
Betway first partnered with the east London club in 2015, replacing Alpari, the foreign exchange broker, and signed a three-year renewal in 2016, which expired at the end of the recently completed 2018-19 Premier League season.
The new deal is worth more than the £10 million ($13.2 million) per year West Ham had received in the previous agreement with Betway.
In addition, Betway and West Ham will work together on a series of fan-focused initiatives.
Karen Brady, West Ham vice-chairman, said: “After working together successfully for four years, this is a new, long-term, record-breaking commercial deal for the club, which shows the faith that Betway has in West Ham United.”
Betway’s soccer sponsorship portfolio also includes Serie A club AS Roma, Germany’s Hannover and Werder Bremen, Spain’s Deportivo Alaves, Leganes and Levante and the Belgian Pro League's Anderlecht.
At the start of the month, West Ham extended their kit supply deal with Umbro, the UK sportswear brand, until 2023.
Umbro’s existing five-year deal with the club was due to expire at the end of the 2019-20 season.
