Infront claims to have been defrauded by former senior employee
Infront, the international sports marketing agency, revealed today that it had been the victim of “fraudulent activities” presumed to have been conducted by "one of its senior former employees" now facing criminal investigation in the company’s home market of Switzerland.
The agency, a leading practitioner in sports media rights and sponsorship, said in a statement that it had become aware of these activities following notification by the public prosecutor in Thurgau, a canton in the north east of the country.
The identity of the former executive has not been divulged.
Infront, which is based in the central canton of Zug, claimed that the notificiation concerned a pending criminal probe against the ex-employee "relating to disloyal and unfaithful business management," and it has been conducting its own internal investigation into the matter.
No further details have been disclosed.
The agency's statement concluded: "Infront has applied to constitute itself as a victim in this criminal procedure and is cooperating fully with the prosecuting authorities.”
