WSL Studios unveils first partnership with Pilgrim Media
WSL Studios, the content creation arm of World Surf League, the organiser of the annual tour of professional competitions, has announced a partnership with production firm Pilgrim Media Group.
It is the first endeavour unveiled by WSL Studios since its launch at the start of the year, with the two entities to produce a variety of surf-centric sport and lifestyle content across all formats and platforms.
There will be traditional surf content such as contests and clip shows, programming on surf culture, spanning music, film, fashion and art, a focus on social impact, as well as environmental and conservation efforts.
Erik Logan, WSL's president of content and media, said: "Partnering with Pilgrim from the onset of WSL Studios sets the bar for the level of quality we are endeavoring to achieve.
"Their talent for producing top-notch unscripted programming, particularly when it comes to emerging sports, and their unmatched ability to capture the inaccessible for audiences around the world make Pilgrim an incredible partner for the WSL."
Logan officially joined WSL in January from Oprah Winfrey Network, the channel owned by the renowned US talk show host where he was president.
Logan had previously acted as an adviser to the league, and is a board member of USA Surfing, a co-founder of Shred & Speed, LLC Infinity SUP, a manufacturer of premium StandUP Paddle boards, and co-owner of Nikau Kai Surf Shop.
